Our motto is "Quality not Quantity".
We hope you will find something you are
interested in. If you want to see how they grow out, look at
Montana (6.5 yr old
weight was 2665#) or Chucky
(6.5 yr old weight was 2190#). We are ruthless with our knife. These bulls
really have to stand out at branding in order to make the bull list. We
make another cut on the bulls at preconditioning time. Our calves are not
creep fed. The weights you see are from only grass & mom's milk.
They do not get put into "special pastures" for just the bull calves. We
handle our calves like commercial cattlemen.
The Bulls are fed a head start medicated pellet at weaning then
switched over to feeding an alfalfa based pellet with corn, barley & wheat.
They are a green pellet & all natural. They have access to free choice grass
hay. THE BULLS DO NOT GET
PUSHED. They are
fed to gain about 2 -2.5#/day
. They grow out nicely, yet do not carry
much fat. We want them in good flesh, with sound feet to be able to go out
& go to work for you.
Complete health records, Semen tests & transferred papers (if you
want them) are furnished. Each bull
is vaccinated for foot rot. Bulls are cake broke. Our
bulls are super gentle & retain that gentleness throughout their life.
They load easily into a trailer & that stays with them as well. Ultra
sound Carcass Data gets taken, DNA testing is done, as well as color testing the
double black bulls. All of our DNA testing is done by Pfizer Animal Genetics
(formerly Bovigen LLC). After visiting with the area rep to explain the
new MVP results, the majority of our bulls are in the
top 10 percentile
of all of the testing done in their lab (except Angus-which have their own
grouping) for Feed Efficiency. Our whole herd was BVD-PI tested negative in 2007.
Bulls have been BVD-PI tested
(All tested negative) .
Thank you to our past bull buyers. We
appreciate your confidence in our program & your Business.
Due to lack of facilities & the
forecast of a Severe Winter again, the Bulls are going to be fed at Midland Bull
Test this year. 152Y will not be sold up there, because of his age, so he
will be for sale privately, but is going thru the test with the others. It
is going to be interesting to see how our April bulls will test against older
bulls.
All Bulls with "Spook"
(Montana & Sterling) in their
pedigree, are a higher Percentage than their registration
shows, as she was a Non Registered Salers X Cow.

What a phenomenal cross this is. He is a full brother to the 042X bull we kept to use
ourselves last year & is for sale listed below. He seems to be thicker than Buster was.
Nice & quiet optimizer bull. He has herd bull potential. Ulmar's calves have wide tops, big hips,
are smooth polled (most), are thick & very quiet. |

This is the youngest bull in the offering & possibly
the best one of the red calves. He is Extremely thick & deep.
I really like this guy. His mother is a half sister to the 102 cow.
His mother is out of "Montana" who is the number one Rib Eye Bull in the
Salers Breed. He is being fed/tested at Midland but is not old enough to make their sale.
He is for sale privately. |

This is the oldest bull in the offering & the only red
purebred. He could be your next Herd Sire. He is long, thick & deep. His mother is a highly
productive 11 year old cow. Probably not recommened for use on
heifers. This boy should really thrive at the Bull Test. Am very
anxious to see how he grows out. As he gets older, he looks more like
his sire. |

This is the only black Ulmar sired bull in the
offering. He is Extremely thick & deep, but taller than his half
brothers (getting his size from his mother). His mother is a highly
productive 10 year old Stealth Daughter. Lisa is one of my BEST cows.
She is the mother to the heifer we sold to MacDonald Ranches at Supreme in
2007. My hopes got dashed for this guy, as he got sick after arriving
at Midland & has not done well. Hopefully he'll turn around before
long. |

This boy has been DNA tested to be sure of his sire. He is out of a
good cow line going back to Nansel Ranch Company. He is double black, but not homozygous black.
He
is extremely long & smooth. He has a huge hip & should have a VERY
large Ribeye as his Grand Sire "Montana" is the number one Ribeye Bull in
the Salers Breed. He has done well by holding his own against the
older bulls at Midland. |

We pulled this boy
from the 2011 sale offering to use him on our heifers. This guy is extremely gentle &
would eat cake out of our hand already as a 3 month old calf. Piper is out of the 48Y cow that was the mother
to our Great Red bull "Big Red". She is a very good producer.
She became a silver dam in 2010. His nickname is Buster. I
really like this bull. He is one of those bulls that is very hard to
get pictures of his true thickness. This guy has the potential to be a
herd bull. He is a full brother to the Yonkers bull that is
at Midland. This picture is taken this winter in his everyday clothes.
If your looking for a bull that is VERY easy to handle to breed your cows,
this boy is the one your looking for.
He will have to be trich tested before you take possession. |
